Help & feedback
How do I play?
Place exactly one animal in every row, every column and every coloured patch. Animals can’t touch each other, not even diagonally.
Tap a cell once to mark it with a dot (no animal here). Tap a dot to place an animal. Long-press a dot to clear it. An animal in the wrong spot costs a heart. Every puzzle can be solved by logic alone, so there is no need to guess.
How does the daily puzzle work?
Everyone gets the same puzzle each day. Your leaderboard time is your solve time plus 15 seconds for every mistake or hint and 60 seconds for every heart refill. Your first result of the day is the one that counts. Solve it on consecutive days to build a streak. If you miss a day, a streak freeze keeps your streak going: you start with one, and every 7 days in a row you earn a new one if you have none. You can hold one freeze at a time. If your streak breaks anyway, the Daily tab may offer to save it with a short ad, for a day or two after it breaks and before you solve that day’s puzzle.
Can I play a daily puzzle I missed?
Yes. The Daily tab keeps the puzzles of the last 7 days under “Past puzzles”. The first one you open each day is free; to open another one that day, the game offers a short ad. A puzzle you opened stays open for the rest of the day. Past puzzles are just for fun: they don’t change your streak or any leaderboard.
Can I share my result?
Yes. After solving today’s puzzle, tap Share on the message that follows or next to your result on the Daily tab. You’ll see a picture with the day’s guest, your time and your streak, and can send it with any app on your phone. The picture never shows where the animals go, so it doesn’t spoil the puzzle. You can also share the moment you meet a new animal or one turns golden.
Do I have to watch ads?
Some, yes. Between puzzles, after you solve one, the game may show a short ad; never while you play. The others play only when you choose one: for 3 more hints once yours are used up, to refill your hearts, to open another past puzzle after the day’s free one, or to save your daily streak after it breaks. If no ad is available, you get the reward anyway. Where the law requires it, you can change your ad privacy choices in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
Where does my player name come from?
The game gives you a random name made of garden words, such as “Sunny Acorn 482”. It’s how you appear on the leaderboard without sharing anything about yourself.
Reminders aren’t arriving
Turn them on in Settings → Daily reminders. You’ll get a note in the morning when a new puzzle is ready, and one in the evening if you have a streak to keep. If your streak broke overnight and can still be saved, the morning note says so. If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for Critter Patch in your phone’s settings.
I got a new phone or reinstalled the game
Progress is saved on your phone, not in an account. A new phone or a reinstall starts from the first level, unless your phone’s own backup brings your progress back: Google backup on Android can do that when you install the game again or set up a new phone, and so can setting up an iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup.
Deleting your online data
Email gladlightgames@gmail.com with your player name (it’s on the Daily tab). We’ll delete your leaderboard results and game profile within 30 days. Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months, and everything the game stored on your phone goes when you delete the game. See the privacy policy for details.
